"Article 13 of the Working Conditions Act requires the employer is assisted by a prevention officer. The prevention officer will be responsible for the day-to-day health and safety within the company. Since we work a lot on construction sites, it is important that we work as safely as possible to prevent accidents."

2. What is your job as a prevention officer?

"A few of my tasks are having an overview of the working conditions and cooperating with the preparation of the RI&amp. But what I mainly do is keeping up with the administrative part of this. Within the company we have a HSE officer who maintains the practical part about safety. Together we communicate about this.

Especially with the HSE audit, my adjust the function prevention officer. I make sure that all the documents that are requested with regard to Health and Safety are on paper."

3. How did you get into this role?

"The role as a prevention officer immediately appealed to me. Even though I had no idea what exactly it would mean and what was expected of me. For the position I had to follow a course. The course was great fun and gave me more insight into the role as prevention officer."
