Amsterdam
Completed (2020)
Awarehouse in Amsterdam has a striking, industrial facade through the use of glass and steel. For the two 'topings' on the fifth floor, 400 tons of steel were used.
The Awarehouse, designed by Dedato, is located on the Danzigerkade in the Amsterdam Houthaven. The large office building with an industrial look was completed in early 2020. Steel is used in several places in an aesthetic and functional way. Up to and including the fifth floor, a combination of concrete columns and steel SFB beams (1,000 tons) is used. The two floors above were completely made of steel, 400 tons of steel were used for this. The same amount was used for the atrium and facade. Even the roof is a combination of glass and steel. The project was therefore nominated for the Dutch National Steel Prize 2020.
We have carried out repairs to the steel internal stairs. The coating was damaged during construction. Now it is aesthetic and protective again. When repairing damaged areas, our goal is to keep color difference to a minimum. In this way, the repaired spots form a whole with the rest of the coating. The stairs now look impressive again: in this way we contribute to an inspiring working environment for the office employees.
We are NESTcoat, specialists in surface treatment of metals. We work on the aesthetic and functional protection of metal products at production plants, but we also provide our service on location of the customer. This means we often visit building sights, infrastructural projects, living accommodations and many other places.
