Bus charging station - Poland - charging station

The project

A charging station is used for charging electric buses. This is a bus that, instead of diesel or petrol, is powered by an electric motor that is powered by a battery. On average, there were about 3,000 electric buses in Europe and the United States in 2019. About one third of these buses in Europe are produced in Poland. There are two systems for charging: static charging and dynamic charging. Buses with a static charging system can often run a full shift and are back in the shed at night. Dynamic charging batteries are smaller. With this system, the bus quickly charges during stops along the way. The application of electric buses contributes to a reduction of CO2 emissions and the achievement of climate targets.

Our contribution

NESTcoat was appointed to remove excessive zinc thickenings on this charging station in Poland and then to repair the coating. The problems had occurred because coating preparation was not applied during the production process. Because of this the galvanized steel wasn’t in the right condition before the product was coated. We were asked to quickly solve their conservation problems. With our service we contribute to making mobility and the energy transition more sustainable. Because the charging station is in good condition again, and the life of the coating has been extended, the object remains good for a long time.

About us

We are NESTcoat, specialists in surface treatment of metals. We work on the aesthetic and functional protection of metal products at production plants, but we also provide our service on location of the customer. This means we often visit building sights, infrastructural projects, living accommodations and many other places.
