Energy park Haringvliet Zuid is Vattenfall's first energy park where wind energy, solar energy and batteries are combined.
Haringvliet Zuid Energy Park is Vattenfall's largest hybrid energy park in the Netherlands. In a year and a half, the site was bought and the park was fully realized and delivered. 115,000 solar panels, 6 wind turbines and 12 sea containers with batteries are spread over 40 hectares of land. The solar panels alone can supply 12,000 households with green energy. In this way, the construction of this energy park contributes to a more sustainable future. When designing the energy park, Vattenfall took into account the wishes of people who like to recreate in this area. Ideas for cycle paths and a viewing hill were included, for example. The solar panels also do not extend higher than 1.5 meters so that this does not obstruct the view of passers-by.
NESTcoat also contributed to a sustainable solution. In order to protect the structures of the solar panels for a long time, we carried out repair work on the zinc layer. These hot-dip galvanized structures were damaged in several places, which we have repaired. As a result, the solar panels are better protected against various weather influences that cause corrosion. With our arrival, we have not only contributed to a protective coating, but also contribute to Vattenfall's ultimate goal: fossil-free living within one generation.
