Fenix I is located on the former warehouse on the Katendrecht peninsula, a unique building where living, working, parking and recreation come together. Approximately one million kilos of steel were used for the construction.
In 2019, the apartment complex on the site of the Fenixloodsen on Katendrecht in Rotterdam was officially opened. 212 loft apartments were built on top of the former warehouse. No less than a million kilos of steel were used in the construction of this project. The realization of Fenix I was a collaboration between Heijmans Bouw en Vastgoed and Mei architects and planners. Living, working and recreation come together in the former warehouse. The building received a lot of attention during and after construction. It has won various prizes, including the ICONIC AWARDS and the Dutch National Steel Prize.
Several damages had occurred during the construction of this project. By repairing construction damage to the coating of stairs, canopies and fences, we ensure that the metal is properly protected again. In addition, we contributed to fast delivery. The residents can now experience the enjoyment of one of the largest construction projects in the Netherlands without damage.
