Characteristic

The third ship, Norwegian Bliss of the Breakaway Class of the Norwegian Cruise Line, was built in 2018. There is plenty of entertainment on board the cruise ship, including a go-kart track that extends over two floors.

The project

Norwegian cruise Line offers accessible cruises with the necessary luxury and relaxation. The destinations vary. For example, Norwegian Bliss, the third ship in the Breakaway class built in 2018, sails from Seattle to Alaska, the Caribbean and the Mexican Riviera. The drawing on the hull of the ship was designed by artist Robert Wylan. It resembles the shape of a humpback whale, which is a symbol of Alaska. The cruise ship offers space for 4000 passengers who can enjoy a relaxing holiday. For this there is entertainment in the form of a swimming pool, casino, theater and go-kart track. The go-kart track is 40% larger than the go-kart track on sister ship Norwegian Joy's cruise ship and extends across the ship's two upper floors.

Our contribution

Before the ship was put into service, NESTcoat finished the steel construction of the go-kart track to ensure safety and durability of the construction. We sealed the connection surfaces and seams of the steel construction. The maritime climate has been taken into account so a wet paint suitable for these conditions was used. The steel construction is now protected against the influences of an offshore environment.
