RijnlandRoute A44 - Leiden - noise barriers

Client

Province of South Holland in collaboration with Rijkswaterstaat

Location

Katwijk/Leiden

Status

In progress

Characteristic

The RijnlandRoute is a new road connection between Katwijk, via the A44, to the A4 at Leiden. This new road connection should ensure a better traffic flow in this region. Much attention is paid to the landscape integration of the route.

The project

This 3 kilometer long noise barrier is located along the A44 near the Stevenshof residential area in Leiden. Work is underway on a new road connection between Katwijk and Leiden called the RijnlandRoute. It is one of the largest infrastructure projects in South Holland. If everything goes according to plan, the highway will be ready in 2023. Nevertheless, the noise barriers are already essential; they prevent noise pollution during the construction process. The screens were put into use in 2018. For more information about the project, visit www.rijnlandroute.nl

Our contribution

During the assembly of the construction of the noise barriers, damage occurred to the coating. NESTcoat was asked to remain involved in the project to quickly repair any damage that occurred. When repairing, we take into account the wishes and requirements of the client. Our work contributes to the protection and aesthetics of the noise barriers. The protective function of the coating is especially important for objects that are always outside.
