TenneT is a large company involved in energy transport. The Maasvlakte in Rotterdam was taken into use as a new site in 2016. Here they are building the transformer station that is part of the 'Net op zee' project. A transformer station ensures that offshore wind farms are connected to the electricity network. The grid connections will be put into operation between 2019 and 2023. The project is important for a successful transition to sustainable energy.
We have applied our damage repair service on the TenneT site. The coating on several masts had been damaged during assembly. When restoring, our goal was to fully restore the protective value of the coating. The damaging environmental factors that are present at a location such as the Maasvlakte, were taking into account. Strong preservation is required here to prevent corrosion. In this way we contribute to the transition to sustainable energy and a sustainable future.
