Padel is a racket sport that originated in Mexico in the 1960s. It looks like a combination between tennis and squash. It is an explosive and dynamic sport that can be played both indoors and outdoors in the so-called padel cages. These cages are constructed from different frames to ensure the durability and stability of the cages. An average padel court is 20 x 10 meters and has a fence of glass and fencing. Padel is the fastest growing sport in the Netherlands. For example, in 2017 there were only 50 padel courts in the Netherlands, but this number has now increased significantly. For example, Tennis Association Norg opened two padel courts for the first time in 2019.
NESTcoat carried out work on these padel courts in Norg. The construction of the padel court showed damage to the powder coating in several places. We also repaired the coating of the base plates of the net construction. This way, the entire track is better protected.
