The Agency for Roads and Traffic (AWV) installed noise barriers along the E314 in Belgium to reduce traffic nuisance. The total noise barrier is about 2.5 kilometers long and the barriers are between three and six meters high. The noise barriers on the side of the highway consist of sound-absorbing material. On the inhabited side, it has a green wall with climbing plants.
NESTcoat has carried out renovation work for this project. An extra layer thickness has been applied to 515 noise barriers for more protection. The extra layer thickness is applied to the hot dip galvanized layer at the bottom of the columns. With our service we contribute to a longer lifespan of the noise barriers, which indirectly contributes to more pleasant living in the vicinity of the highway.
